Maternity Belly Band

These stretchy maternity belly bands are wonderful for a growing tummy! We buy maternity clothes but as our tummies grow, our shirts tend to get shorter and shorter. These are so inexpensive to make so making a lot of colors won't break the bank!

Cut a piece of stretchy knit material to fit. Mine was 20"x34". Make sure the stretch is going up and down so it will grow with your belly.

Now fold your piece in half (right sides together) and sew a 1/2" seam allowance down the raw edge.

After stitching, press your seam and turn your "tube" right side out.

Now to attach your ends...
Just stick a a few pins in to get started. Lining up the edges and sew a 1/2" seam allowance. (Start sewing with the two pieces that are touching and work your way around, but leave about 2 inches open.

Straighten your band all out and you will have that small opening. Just whip stitch it closed.

After you get it whip stitched closed, fix the band where the seam is in the center on the inside and give it a good press.

That's it! Your all done!
